Ask anyone over the age of 20 and they will tell you about the spectrum (or speccy as they are more commonaly known). Over the years the graphics, FMV(full motion video)size and the price tag have increased. Yet the same ideas has gone on and on and on and on!
The games Today, graphicly are astounding when compared to games 10 years ago but this in my opinion is really an negitive. Like Final Fantasy 8 the game graphicly was pushing the lil ol' playstation to near limit point, but i found what the game had in graphics really it losed out in the plot of the game. Even when pushing the boundry is in previous years (like ff5 for ths snes which was the first to fully utilise the cartrages to the limitations in the sound department) the story lines did not suffer
You can now travel back in time and convert your pentium 3 processer and play speccy games but this is still and ilegal act due to the copyrights still being in effect. so really i cant condone the use of emulators and ROM's (there is alot more info on this issue on www.void.jump.org although if you do own an ORIGANAL copy of a game be it Sega, nintendo or any other system then you are entitled to keep a back up copy of a game for backup uses. i do use emulators but only for games which i have searched around the world for and cant get play on my european system ( like ff5 but i do own the origanal game)
this page is not going to be with out a bit of fun. next is a segment of an eamil i sent out in december 2000 (although i must it has been cleaned up a hell of a lot!
